David Wisner is an American diplomat who had served Deputy Chief of Mission and Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Tirana, Albania.
Career
[edit]Prior to this role, Wisner served as the Director of the U.S. State Department’s Office of Global Food Security. Before that, he was the deputy director for Press and Strategic Communications and the Spokesperson for the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs. Additionally, David served as a Special Assistant to State Department Counselor Kristie Kenney, providing advice on African and Middle East and North Africa issues.[citation needed]
His earlier assignments include leading the Political and Economic section at the U.S. Embassy in Algiers, Algeria, and working in the political sections at U.S. Embassies in Khartoum, Sudan, and Bangui, Central African Republic.
David speaks Arabic and French and is a graduate of Middlebury College in Vermont.[1]
