David James Taylor[1] (born November 16, 1969)[2] is an American politician and business owner who is the member elect to the United States House of Representatives for Ohio's 2nd congressional district.
Early life and career
[edit]Taylor graduated from Amelia High School in Batavia, Ohio. He then graduated from Miami University and the University of Dayton School of Law.[3][4] He worked as a part-time assistant prosecutor for Clermont County before taking over as the owner of his family's concrete business, Sardinia Ready Mix, in Brown County.[5][6]
Following incumbent representative Brad Wenstrup's announcement that he would not seek reelection to the United States House of Representatives for Ohio's 2nd congressional district in the 2024 United States House of Representatives elections, Taylor announced his candidacy.[7] He won the Republican Party nomination[8] and defeated Democratic nominee Samantha Meadows in the November general election.[9]
Personal life
[edit]Taylor has been married to his wife, Charity, for 27 years. They currently reside in Clermont County with their three daughters.[10]
