Creek (aka Dubai Creek, Arabic: الخور) is a rapid transit station on the Green Line of the Dubai Metro in Dubai, UAE.[1][2] It serves as the western terminus of the line.[3][4]

The station officially opened on 1 March 2014.[5] The Green Line was initially designed to terminate at Dubai Healthcare City, but an extension was added to Dubai Creek via Al Jadaf metro station. According to Gulf News in 2014, the plan to further extend the Green Line to Academic City is fully approved, in order to better serve the interests of residents in the Silicon Oasis and International City area.[6][7] The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library is close to the station on Dubai Creek.[8]

On November 24, 2023, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum approved the Blue Line Metro Project and the Line will be extended from Creek to Academic City via Festival City, Dubai Creek Harbour, Ras Al Khor, International City and Dubai Silicon Oasis.[9]

Al Jaddaf Marine Transport Station

[edit]

The Al Jaddaf Marine Transport Station close to the Creek metro station[8] is run by the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), operating ferries on Dubai Creek itself.[10] This includes an Abra boat service across the Creek to the mall at Dubai Festival City. This Connection transfers to Creek (Dubai Metro)[11]The first marine transport line operates between Dubai Creek Harbour and Dubai Festival City on weekends where the second marine route connects Dubai Creek Harbour to both Al Jaddaf Marine Transport Station and Al Khor Metro Station. This route is part of Dubai's expanding marine transportation network, designed to offer convenient and scenic alternatives for commuting across the city. By linking key areas like Dubai Creek Harbour with other transportation hubs such as Al Jaddaf and Al Khor Metro Station, the route aims to enhance connectivity, ease congestion on the roads, and provide residents and tourists with more diverse travel options.[12]
