Corani (from Aymara Qurani, meaning "the one with herbs") is one of ten districts of the Carabaya Province in Peru.[1]

Geography

The southern section of the Willkanuta mountain range traverses the district. Some of the highest peaks of the district are listed below:[2]

Ethnic groups

The people in the district are mainly indigenous citizens of Quechua descent. Quechua is the language which the majority of the population (96.64%) learnt to speak in childhood, 3.03 % of the residents started speaking using the Spanish language (2007 Peru Census).[3]
