Cooper Koch (born July 16, 1996) is an American actor, best known for his portrayal of murderer Erik Menéndez in the crime drama series Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story (2024). He has also starred in the slasher film They/Them and the body horror film Swallowed (both 2022).

Biography

Cooper Koch was born on July 16, 1996, in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles.[1] He has a twin brother, Payton Koch, who works as a film editor, and a second brother named Walter, who is a musician.[2][3] His father, Billy Koch, works in film in the visual effects department.[3] His grandfather is producer Hawk Koch, and his great-grandfather was film producer and director Howard W. Koch.[3]

Koch attended Pace School of Performing Arts in New York City, from which he graduated in May 2018.[3] He received his first on-screen acting credit for the 2007 film Fracture, which was produced by his grandfather.[3]

Koch is openly gay and often stars in queer films, including A New York Christmas Wedding (2020), They/Them, and Swallowed (both 2022).[4][5]
