Chome Forest Reserve

Chome Forest Reserve is a reserve in the Pare Mountains in Tanzania.[1] It is located between the West Usambaras and the North Pare Mountains.[2] It lies in Pare District of Kilimanjaro Region.[3]

The highest altitude in the reserve has Shengena Peak.[1] It covers 14,231 hectares of various forest types.[1] Chome Forest Reserve has numerous bird species.[1] The reserve sits in the part of the Eastern Arc Mountains, nominated for the World Heritage List in 2010.[3] There is a direct climatic influence of the Indian Ocean.[3] The area has been logged for many years.[3] It is surrounded by numerous villages.[3] It harbours several types of monkey.[4]
