Chicomurex laciniatus, common name the laciniated murex, is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Muricidae, the murex snails or rock snails.[1]
Description
[edit]Chicomurex laciniatus is characterized by its large, robust shell with an elongated, spiny appearance. The surface of the shell features prominent, sharp spines and a series of frilled, lacerate edges. The shell's color varies, typically ranging from pale cream to light brown, often with darker markings and a slightly glossy texture. The aperture of the shell is narrow and elongated, with a thickened outer lip. The size of an adult shell varies between 30 mm and 77 mm.

Distribution
[edit]This marine species is found off the Philippines and Northern Queensland, Australia.
