Charlie Stramel (born October 15, 2004) is an American college ice hockey center for Michigan State University of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). He previously played at the University of Wisconsin. He was drafted 21st overall by the Minnesota Wild in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.

Playing career

Stramel began his college ice hockey career at Wisconsin. During the 2022–23 season, in his freshman year, he recorded five goals and seven assists in 33 games.[1][2] During the 2023–24 season, in his sophomore year, he recorded three goals and five assists in 34 games.[3]

On April 8, 2024, Stramel transferred to Michigan State.[4]

Stramel represented the United States at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics where he recorded two goals in four games and won a silver medal.[5]

Stramel represented the United States at the 2022 IIHF World U18 Championships, where he recorded two goals and three assists in six games and won a silver medal.[6]

On December 12, 2022, Stramel was named to the United States men's national junior ice hockey team to compete at the 2023 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships. During the tournament, he recorded three assists in seven games and won a bronze medal.[7]
