Chīsai-ojisan

Chīsai-ojisan (小さいおじさん, lit. 'tiny/little mister') is a Japanese cryptid, which has been mentioned in urban legend since around 2009.[1]

Chīsai-ojisan is a dwarf that looks like a middle-aged man. Witnesses say that he is about 8 to 30 cm tall.[2]

Witnesses said that it was attached to a window,[3] found in a bathroom,[4] carrying an empty can on the side of the road, or on a tree in a park,[5] etc.

In 2010, it was commercialized advertised that witnessing "Little Mister" give you a little luck.[6]

Strangely, there are many celebrities among the alleged witnesses.[5] Those who claim to have seen it include Junichi Okada,[1] Jun Kurose,[7] Yumiko Shaku,[1][8][9] Man Mori,[10] Reiko Tokita,[1] Mika Nakashima,[6] Kōji Makoba,[1] Marika Minami,[1] Bintarō Yamaguchi,[1] Tōru Watanabe,[1] Junji Inagawa,[1] Yūko Ōshima,[11] Erena Ono,[11] Yukina Kinoshita,[12] Asuka Kuramochi,[11] Eiko Koike,[7] Chiaki Fujimoto,[7] Tomoya Nagase,[3] Masatoshi Hamada,[7] Aya Hirayama,[3] Hatsune Matsushima,[13] Shigeru Mizuki,[1] Kumiko Mori,[7] Kanako Yanagihara, and Kanna Hashimoto.[14] Among them, Yumiko Shaku has claimed to “have seen a fairy in the shape of a little man” for more than a decade before this urban legend became popular.[1][8]
