Criteria for listing writers here
[edit]What is the criteria for listing specific writers here? It seems to me that most names on this list would be pretty militant atheists, such as Richard Dawkins or Friedrich Nietzsche, who could have been included in the category called "Atheism activists". Then again, many atheist writers would go in categories of atheists by their nationality, such as Daniel Dennett, who would be in category "American Atheists".. So, is this category really necessary? 81.140.1.129 (talk) 18:35, 8 April 2017 (UTC)
- I agree with the previous comment. This category is redundant, but worst of all, too difuse and confusing. Let's see: "Writers who have written about atheism". Really? So even most Catholic popes can be included here... It will be very difficult to get sources to categorize here, so it will inevitably lead to original research. I truly think we have a big problem here. PedroAcero76 (talk) 00:25, 5 March 2024 (UTC)
- For example, Nietzsche wrote on many issues, including religion and more specifically, Christianism. But Atheism? I've read his complete works and I don't think he did so. Very difficult to source this, but it didn't happen with the previous category: Nietzsche is widely known and cited as an Atheist philosopher and writer. PedroAcero76 (talk) 00:31, 5 March 2024 (UTC)
