Why is this needed?
[edit]@Apokrif and SMcCandlish: Why is this category needed? How is it different than Category:Wikipedia quick introductions above it? We needed to be consolidating our introductory resources, not sprouting additional labels. {{u|Sdkb}} talk 22:08, 22 November 2020 (UTC)
- I'm not sure it is needed. I'm just applying it where it seems pertinent. If you wanted it deleted, see WP:CFD. However, an obvious use I can see for it, given that it's an internal maint. category, is flagging a few key pages that are about or for WP newcomers, since these are materials we might want to review periodically and make sure they actually make sense (all kinds of things about WP change over time, and if these in particular get out-of-synch with reality, it could have bad consequences). A few pages that are not "key" but are entirely about newcomers also probably belong in here (it would be confusing if they were not, given the name of the category). I've taken note of already-existing categories that exist to catalogue all sorts of how-to and intro and help info, and have presented them as category see-alsos, so no one is inspired to add every single informative resource here just because newcomers might be interested in them. This isn't a category I would expect actual newcomers to use. Even most decade-running editors aren't aware it exists. — SMcCandlish ☏ ¢ 😼 22:51, 22 November 2020 (UTC)
