[edit]There was a consensus at Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2020_February_28#Category:Victorian-era_naval_ships_by_country to merge "Victorian" categories for countries other than UK, Australia and Canada. However, this does leave a gap in shipping by period.
Moreover, the nomination left the anomalous Category:Victorian-era submarines of the United States.
Category:Victorian-era corvettes of Germany and Category:Victorian-era frigates of Germany were apparently overlooked.
Also, Australia (alone?) has two categories for 1851–1870 and 1871–1900.
