This category lists areas outside of Turkey and the de-facto Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus with major Turkish populations.

What do you mean with major Turkish populations. It can mean three things: 1) Clearly identifiable Turkish sub-areas where Turkish is the day-to-day language; Turkish writing is used and the local language not (cf Chinatown type area) 2) A large Turkish population in a certain area. But what is large. I would say at least 100,000; although 500,000 may also be relevant 3) The Turkish population is actually the majority (>50%), or at least a huge minority (>30%) in that area.

I think we have find this kind of criteria which are testable for any non-Turkish town to be added to this category. Arnoutf (talk) 13:44, 21 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
