This category is well overstated. It includes "incidents" which are not even accidents, much less "disasters." It would be better not to use media hype to name categories. Even Pearl Harbor, largely regarded as a "disaster" at the time, was probably the best way for the US to go to war with Japan. Far from a "disaster", the carriers weren't there and the American people were mad as hell and stayed that way for the duration! So media hype is a poor measure of the impact of an event. The media is simply trying to sell ad space (and get you to watch/listen so they can raise their price). Student7 (talk) 12:19, 24 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
