Dear Wikipedia,

I’m sorry for creating sockpuppets on Wikipedia in 2006. At the time, I thought I was helping by leveling out the playing field. I thought Wikipedia was anti-religious and the editors were largely against conservative, American Christianity. Therefore, since many of my Christian friends were not internet savvy, I felt I was doing the right thing by representing their voices in Christian articles.

I did not say what I just did in order to justify it. I just wanted to explain what I was doing. I should also mention that many of the sockpuppets I was blamed for were not actually me at all. They were other users with their own agendas.

I think Wikipedia is a valuable resource. As an author and blogger, I love to write and learn. Consequently, I see Wikipedia as a good place to go for knowledge and information. In fact, I may want to contribute again one day.

I’m sorry for wasting your time and breaking the rules on Wikipedia. I see how they can be of value and how consensus among the community is important; even when trying to articulate a minority viewpoint.

Sincerely,

Jason Gastrich — Preceding unsigned comment added by 1sdkid (talkcontribs) 08:04, 24 December 2011‎
