It might be a bit late in the day to be bringing this up and maybe the issue has been thoroughly discussed elsewhere—but I find the decision to name Beethoven's String Quartets by number, rather than key or opus number very strange. I've never heard of his 14th Quartet, but I've often heard of the C sharp minor quartet, op.131. So browsing on this page very much becomes a matter of hit and miss. Opposite way round to how this symphonies and other people's String Quartets are known, I appreciate, but still. almost-instinct 15:23, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

PS since this catagory is unlikely to get any larger, is there any reason why a key giving the keys and opus numbers couldn't be provided above the list? almost-instinct 15:31, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
