Bad rename
[edit]@Sillyfolkboy: I disagree with your renaming the category from Category:World champions by sport to Category:Sports world champions, and I dispute the edit summary "better phrasing". The old name was standard for a WP:metacategory and clearer on the category's nature and purpose. The parent categories are Category:Sports champions by sport and Category:World championships by sport, not Category:Sports champions and Category:Sports world championships. jnestorius(talk) 00:18, 10 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Jnestorius: I disagree with you on that point, as I think sports champions should be the grandfather category for this topic. Now I look though, I think we're also missing the (parent) main category of Category:World champions which would seem to be quite a basic topic to categorise by. Or is that the same topic as here? I'm trying to think of non-sports world championships but I'm not sure if that's a thing (if not, we could move this topic). Do you want to raise this at categories for discussion for broader input? I can see multiple possible outcomes and I'm not 100% sure on a single outcome. SFB 00:36, 10 March 2018 (UTC)
- "I disagree with you on that point, as I think sports champions should be the grandfather category for this topic." — I don't understand; you disagree on what point? I did not propose that sports champions should become the parent category for this topic, or any change to the category hierarchy; I just want to move this category back to its previous name. jnestorius(talk) 01:40, 10 March 2018 (UTC)
