MPs/TDs
[edit]Laurel, they were elected to Westminster, thus becoming MPs. They then convened as Dáil Éireann, making them also TDs. Gob Lofa (talk) 17:03, 7 October 2015 (UTC)
- Is it is possible that some Sinn Fein MPs were elected prior to 1918? If so, they're not TDs. Each individual person who was elected to the first Dail is categorised as such. There is no need to muddy the waters by presenting this category as a child of the "Members of the 1st Dail" category. I would strongly oppose such a move. - Now that you mention it, I believe there was one or two. Gob Lofa (talk) 11:41, 8 October 2015 (UTC)
- There were five Sinn Féin winners of by-elections in 1917–18, listed at List of United Kingdom by-elections (1900–18). All five were re-elected in 1918 and served in the First Dáil. Therefore this extra category adds nothing. jnestorius(talk) 08:34, 6 April 2016 (UTC)
