Ideas need/wanted for expanding this project

I have set up the above todo list in order to help co-ordinate a working relationship between various team members that want to participate on expaning rail articles in this category. Please post any ideas you have below, thanks. Tom Webb 23:16, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

• Review current articles and look at working at an improvement drive to bring all current articles to Wiki feature standards.
• Get good pictures for articles
• Get list of articles that are missing or should be included in this category.

Good idea

I think this is a good idea. I could possibly make a template for people to stick on their userpages, similar to the "This user is a Firefox user", etc. Three main factors:

• Lack of photos for say a specific locomotive class, ie DC class
• The articles themselves (without putting people down) are written in New Zealand English, therefore do not conform with international quality standards. Im saying this, because our articles most probaly wont be included in the CD version of Wikipedia.
• Possibly adding photos to the Toll Rail section of their livery (colours).

These are just some ideas off the top of my head, so we can all work together and expand. I know, the user Xaiver (sm) is working with the articles as well. --Matt von Furrie 23:35, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

Wellington articles

Should there be a new sub-category for articles specific to the Wellington region, as there currently is for Auckland articles? -- Matthew25187 21:43, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

I would fully support that. We need to bring Wellington up to the same level of coverage as the Auckland area. In fact, given the more successful history of commuter railways in Wellington, there is probably more that we can do in the way of coverage if we have good sources. - Axver 11:59, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

Well Category:Rail transport in Wellington could be renamed to Category:Rail transport in the Wellington Region as some (eg Kapiti Coast District articles refer to the region! Hugo999 (talk) 04:03, 17 April 2020 (UTC)

Otaihunga railway station article

I propose to make Otaihunga railway station a redirect to Otaihanga railway station and have put it on the WikiProject NZR list of tasks. Current spelling and also the spelling in WMR advertisements and in Douglas Hoy’s 1972 book on the WMR (p52,120). I do not have access to Ken Cassell’s “Uncommon Carrier” at present.
