- Category:Polish generals in the Imperial Russian Army to Category:Imperial Russian Army generals of Polish descent – C2C per all other similar categories on Wiki. Allegiance to the entity is always listed first (i.e. Imperial Russian, Austro-Hungarian, etc.), not the ethnic origin of the person. Most of the people listed in the category were born in the Russian Empire and had only the Imperial Russian nationality. The current name of the category erroneously implies as if they were expats, rather than subjects (with a certain ethnicity). - LouisAragon (talk) 02:08, 13 August 2017 (UTC)
- @LouisAragon: Alternative suggestion (not an oppose): Category:Imperial Russian Army generals of Polish ethnicity. Marcocapelle (talk) 11:47, 13 August 2017 (UTC)
- @Marcocapelle: Good suggestion. However, I believe that would create an issue regarding Imperial Russian generals who had one Polish parent, or those who were scions of Polish noble families that had settled in the Russian Empire for centuries, and had extensively intermarried with other ethnicites of the empire. In other words; people who were totally "Imperial Russian" in identity, but had some Polish ancestry by blood, and a Russified Polish surname. - LouisAragon (talk) 17:48, 13 August 2017 (UTC)
- @LouisAragon: I notice that this nomination hasn't been processed by an administrator. It's probably a hint that we should list this at CfD for a full discussion. Marcocapelle (talk) 06:28, 19 August 2017 (UTC)
- @Marcocapelle: You're probably right. Should I just remove the speedy tag on the cat and list it at CfD then? I'm not really a "veteran" regarding these follow-up protocols, hence my question. - LouisAragon (talk) 00:40, 23 August 2017 (UTC)
- @LouisAragon: Yes please go ahead. Marcocapelle (talk) 01:41, 23 August 2017 (UTC)
