Boundaries

[edit]

Old Town Chinatown lies mostly within NW Portland, but a portion of it crosses south of Burnside into SW Portland. This category contains entries for both NW and SW Portland, so please do not add it to either NW or SW Portland categories. ---Another Believer (Talk) 01:22, 15 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal: Remove Category:Chinese-American culture in Portland, Oregon as parent category

[edit]

I propose removing Category:Chinese-American culture in Portland, Oregon as a parent category. Old Town Chinatown is the name of a geographic area in Portland and most of the entries in this category are notable sites and businesses within its boundaries. Some of the entries are definitely connected to Chinese-American culture and history, but most are not. I propose applying Category:Chinese-American culture in Portland, Oregon to entries appropriately, rather than implying all Wikipedia articles about Old Town Chinatown are related to Chinese-American culture.

Thoughts? Concerns? Thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 22:14, 3 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Another categorization suggestion

[edit]

I see this category is also in Category:Chinatowns in the United States. This category is not a subcategory with entries about notable Chinatowns. I propose replacing this category with Category:Neighborhoods in Portland, Oregon. That's what this category is specifically about... a neighborhood.

Thoughts? ---Another Believer (Talk) 22:20, 3 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
