coverage
[edit]The category now includes six Irvingtons players (all major leaguers): Hugh Campbell 1866-69, Mike Campbell 1866-69, Leonard 1866-67, Pike 1867, Sweasy 1866-67, Wolters 1866-67. (All but Pike were on the 1866 team that lost a best of three to the Atlantics in extra innings. They continued with Pike in 1867 but Pike at least departed mid-seasons.)
At least one other major leaguer played for the Irvingtons during the 1866–1869 seasons "rostered" by Marshall Wright (pp 121, 151, 227, 253).
- 1868 - Everett Mills
- 1869 (pro) - perhaps John Farrow (baseball)
The Campbell brothers who remained with the Irvingtons to the end then joined the Resolutes of Elizabeth, New Jersey. They played in the majors for the Elizabeth Resolutes of 1873. --P64 (talk) 22:01, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
