Cities and villages are not part of towns

I noticed that a lot of articles on villages in Wisconsin say that they are located "in" a particular town or another. All cities and villages in Wisconsin are governmentally independent of the towns (townships) around them, and it is not correct to imply or state that they are part of the town. The only places that can be said to be part of a town are unincorporated places, such as CDPs, or hamlets or other population sites. An example of this is Randolph, Wisconsin, which I recently edited, but left the incorrect statements unedited. Backspace (talk) 17:33, 11 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
