About the necessity of this category

[edit]

First of all, let me say that I am not advocating the abolition of this category, I am simply questioning it.
Is there a need to categorize centenarians by gender? Moreover, isn't this category only for people from the US, Australia, and other Western countries, and excludes most people from Asia, Africa, and other regions? (It's an incomplete category) Shouldn't this be improved?

In addition, as an aside, considering that gender identity will become more diverse in the future, isn't it going to become tougher to separate men from women? — Preceding unsigned comment added by カッパ鳥 (talkcontribs) 21:22, 19 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Non-diffusing

[edit]

It seems the instruction for non-diffusing categories are widely misunderstood. It says, "It includes Centenarians that can also be found in the parent category, or in diffusing subcategories of the parent." (my bolding). IOW, American men centenarians should not be in this category. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 13:50, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
