[edit]FARTYAL surname people are the kumaoni rajput.There are many rajput in india one of them are fartyal rajput.At the time of akbar(the great emperor of Mughal empire)given title to fartyal warrior a Champawat tiger.They are generaly found in Champawat region only.Accoding to history they wer the king of chamapwat,pithoragarh,khatima,lohaghat and devidhura.According to ancient scripture they are descendants of banasur king.
