Knights Bachelor
[edit]Many of the people who have been added to this category are/were not KBEs, but Knights Bachelor. Can I please appeal to people to find out the difference before they add them to this category. They are NOT the same thing. Many editors seem to assume that KBE is the common British knighthood, whereas in actual fact it is relatively unusual. -- Necrothesp 03:57, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
- Amen to that. Another thing which is quite disturbing is those that think OBE stands for Order of the British Empire!? Craigy (talk) 21:18, 2 April 2006 (UTC)
About Simon Rattle
[edit]I found out that Simon Rattle is in CBE. But according to BBC Music Magazine, Sir Simon got a KBE. So I request Rattle to be moved into the KBE list from the CBE one. If Sir Simon had been the Commander, he would not have called "Sir Simon Denis Rattle." (One example: Richard Hichox is a CBE, but we don't call him "Sir Richard Hichox.") —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gnayshkr3020 (talk • contribs)
- Rattle is only a CBE (1987) yet also a Knight Bachelor (1994). I've amended his page. Craigy (talk) 00:07, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

Andrew Wiles
[edit]The wiki article about Andrew Wiles says that he received the Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire. So I added KBE after his name. Yet, I do not see his name in this list! If you can add his name, it will be great! Hopefully I do not get mixed up with Knight Bachelors again.Gnayshkr3020 (talk) 05:05, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, you're right. He was appointed a KBE in the New Year Honours of 2000. He wouldn't be in the category if the category itself wasn't added to his page (which I've now done). Regards, Craigy (talk) 09:19, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
