Removed
[edit]I removed the following phrase: Some people describe themselves as jews more in the sense of their hebrew ethnicity. for several reasons. IMHO, simply linking Jew is much better. If there are objections, I can explain. ←Humus sapiens←ну? 10:35, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
Jewish faith and secular Jews
[edit]I don't entirely understand the intro to this category. In one line, it says the category includes members of the Jewish faith, and in small print it says secular Jews are included. Have I misunderstood the meaning of the word "secular"? Does this distinction not encompass Jews who profess no faith of any kind? Woody Allen, for example, is an atheist, yet if he were a Wikipedian, he could justifiably call himself a Jewish Wikipedian. He could not call himself a member of the Jewish faith, i.e. a believer in Judaism, yet this category would label him as such. Am I wrong? If so, please correct my error. I appreciate that it would be rather unwieldy to create separate categories, but perhaps we should at least qualify that "faith" statement to make it clear that Jewish identity is not a purely religious distinction like, say, Islam or Buddhism. God's

Loop of self-inclusion
[edit]This page should belong to just 2 parent-categories: "Wikipedians by ethnicity and nationality" and "Wikipedians by religion". That's all you'll find in the edit of this page. But because this page displays a userbox which automatically tags its user as a "Jewish Wikipedian", therefore this category recieves the "Jewish Wikipedians" category. And a loop is born. Anybody know wat to do? Debresser (talk) 23:06, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
User:Roux gave me an answer on my talk page. His answer gave me all the necessary background to answer this question and another one too. Thanks!
I took care of the problem. Debresser (talk) 20:47, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
