Opposed speedy move request
[edit]- Category:HBO Max original programming to Category:Max original programming - C2D. 112.118.154.61 (talk) 03:18, 19 June 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose. Anachronistic. Also that category already exists at Category:Max (streaming service) original programming. --Gonnym (talk) 03:34, 19 June 2023 (UTC)
Opposed speedy move request (2)
[edit]- Category:HBO Max original programming to Category:Max (streaming service) original programming – C2C: per Category:Max (streaming service). –Aidan721 (talk) 00:40, 30 January 2024 (UTC)
- This one was opposed by @Gonnym: at my talk page. I reverted the processing.--Ymblanter (talk) 07:50, 1 February 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose. Television and film categories don't use anachronistic names. As was already done. The HBO one, is a sub-category of the Max one. Gonnym (talk) 07:55, 1 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Gonnym: Can you link the corresponding guidelines/WP that state this is the case? I suspected they would follow similar suit as sports teams and other organizations that rename. The main article is List of Max original programming and features releases from both HBO Max era and Max era. –Aidan721 (talk) 14:09, 1 February 2024 (UTC)
- Just because the sports side of the project acts in an unhelpful way, does not mean the whole project needs to follow. Regarding your question, the fact that there are many categories for past network names / pre-merger, is a sign that this is how it's always been done. here is a film-related discussion that followed after a speedy move that had quite a few editors in it. - Strong oppose this as well. Thank goodness this was reverted in time. Just because HBO Max changed its name to Max doesn't make a HBO Max show a Max show. InfiniteNexus (talk) 20:37, 3 February 2024 (UTC)
