POW?

[edit]

I think there should be a discussion as to whether http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Category%3AGuantanamo_Bay_detainment_camp&diff=160045391&oldid=160019145 this category should have been added to the POW camp category.]

According to the Bush Presidency and the DoD the camp is not a POW camp, and the captives held there are not POWs.

Yes, the captives would have been treated as POWs if the USA were complying with the Geneva Convention. Personally I have no problem leaving this cat in the other cat, provided the talk page shows we considered it, because I anticipate later confusion over this issued.

There is a significant POV in reliable sources that says they are prisoners of war -- even if they are not treated as prisoners of war, or called prisoners of war. --Timeshifter 00:29, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
