Question about addition to this list

[edit]

Hi, I know on the main page for lobotomy it says in the edit notes not to add “Shutter Island” or “Sucker Punch” to the list of lobotomies in literature and film because only those which contributed to contemporary understanding and opinion of lobotomies are appropriate. Does this apply to this page as well? Because I notice that a “Shutter Island” character is included here. Does this mean that we can also add other fictional horror movie characters who had lobotomies to this list, eg the character of Ann Crook, played by Joanna Page, in the 2001 film “From Hell”? Thank you! Wanderlustlost (talk) 01:55, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Wanderlustlost: Hi. That edit note is about inclusion criteria of the list Lobotomy#Literary and cinematic portrayals. This is a category. Lists and categories are two different things. Wikipedia articles about fictional people belong in this category if being lobotomized is a defining characteristic of the person. You can read Wikipedia:Defining and then use your own judgement as to whether a character belongs or not. --DB1729talk 14:20, 18 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
