To what degree should this category include authors like Gregory Maguire, Elizabeth Aston, etc.? I was pondering this when considering adding Pamela Aidan, who has described her Pride and Prejudice derivative novels as fanfiction - it would seem inconsistent to include her but not all these others, yet we run into problems with authors who perhaps don't like their works to be described as fanfic, and further problems when we consider that many of Shakespeare's works were derivative and that the Aeneid is sort of Iliad fanfic. So what do we do when the works for which these authors are notable are the fanfiction works, as with Aidan and with Nick Perumov (the only article currently in the category that I did not add)?
