Purpose of this category
[edit]I see this category was only created in 2010, likewise the category for the United Kingdom, and for Germany, all by an editor who was banned from wikipedia in 2013. I have already questioned the reason for this category's existence on a talk page for the German category:
1. Could somebody please explain the reason for this category's existence? It seems a bizarre and arbitrary means of classification. What purpose does it serve beyond keeping people who like to make lists busy?
2. In normal usage, "establishment" doesn't mean "something that is established". In both the US and the UK it is an old-fashioned term for a shop or bar. The editor who created these categories appeared to be Norwegian Robocon1 (talk) 10:48, 27 May 2015 (UTC)
When this category was proposed for deletion shortly after being created in 2010, the originator proposed its retention and another person said they found it useful, but didn't specify how. Any suggestions? Robocon1 (talk) 15:17, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
