Merge with open access archives
[edit]I want to merge with open access archives -- everything in here is in open access archives. Objections? DGG 03:27, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
- I think it would be a good idea to have one category for open access archives and eprint services; however, not all eprint services are, per se, "open access". SSRN is the major service in my field (law) but it's preprints and some papers are restricted (I don't know how many). ... However, I think that "ePrint" should be changed, anyway! It's a neologism that is really not that common -- "preprint" is the name that most people use on- and offline, so far as I know. ... --Lquilter (talk) 13:54, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
RePEc is similarly--considering developments since December, I think we will probably need to do several lists of various sorts. I did not like ePrint myself, but it seemed to be the term preferred. Online was 5 years ago not all that great, as a good many things were being actually used as CDs, which is now a format used much only in the humanities--I suppose that is what you mean by offline. the general term is electronic resources, but that includes commercial. As does online. DGG (talk) 22:30, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
- No, I agree, "ePrint" is annoying. But if it's the term we should go with it. Anyway, now I'm a little confused - what would be the new structure? --Lquilter (talk) 23:07, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
Rename to lower case "p"
[edit]Should be renamed from "EPrint archives" to "Eprint archives", similar to the Eprint article title. Nurg (talk) 09:24, 11 June 2013 (UTC)
- Done. Nurg (talk) 11:10, 9 August 2014 (UTC)
