Sorry I couldn't participate in the discussion of the CfD nomination. I guess, from my perspective, receiving the Nomination of the Democratic Party in a Presidential election is notable. Less notable would be something like "Candidates for the Democratic Nomination," which clearly should not be a category. Also less notable would be "Democratic Party (United States) Congressional Nominees," or nominations for some lesser office. Generally, being nominated for an honor is not particularly notable if one fails to win the final vote. But, since president of the federal government is largely considered the highest office in the land, this makes that particular nomination, from one of the two dominating political parties, uniquely notable.
This may be an exception to the general notion that nominee categories are largely non-notable, and should be dispensed with.zadignose13:48, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
