Reorganizing
[edit]I think breaking up the Cthulhu Mythos deities into categories like "Great Old Ones", "Outer Gods" and so on is untenable. As one or the other of the articles notes, these distinctions are far from clear in the stories (probably deliberately so, in Lovecraft's case), and for us to sort them that way is sort of OR.
If there is need to sort the deities--and I think it is a good idea to have some omnibus articles--it would seem to make more sense to sort them by creator rather than by their presumed status on the cosmic totem pole. I'm thinking Clark Ashton Smith deities, Ramsey Campbell deities, Brian Lumley deities--others as need arises.
But the main thing I'd like to do is get rid of the [[Category:Great Old Ones]] and put all those guys directly in [[Category:Cthulhu Mythos deities]]. Nareek 20:37, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
