I demand Category:Categories that contain themselves and Category:Categories that do not contain themselves! --Spudtater 00:26, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No categories contain themselves; they're not allowed to. BTW, this page has one of the most ridiculous names in all Wikipedia. —Keenan Pepper 16:16, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Surely we need a subcategory, Category:Category-theoretic categories of categories, in which the article category of small categories would belong. Or maybe that should be Category:Category-theoretic categories of category-theoretic categories? —David Eppstein (talk) 23:11, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Is there a category (in the sense of category theory) that contains a category in the non-categorical sense as an object? I don't think there is one, at least inside mathematics. -- Taku (talk)
There are many categories that contain themselves, for example this one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category_talk:Computer_security#Category_loop
And there's not even a maintenance category for those. Fabian42 (talk) 08:15, 15 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
