Proposed merge
[edit]It has been proposed that Category:Cable railways should be merged with Category:Funicular railways.
Reason: (not given)
- Oppose. Category:Funicular railways should be a sub-category of Category:Cable railways, since all funicular railways are cable-hauled (by definition?), but not all cable railways are funicular. The cable car system in San Francisco, for example, is not a funicular. Some of the entries in the current funicular category should be moved to Category:Cable railways instead.

- Thanks for the reminder. Have removed the merge tags and also created Category:Cable car railways to complete the set! Some of the railways in Category:Funicular railways may belong in the new cat, please move any you spot. Thanks.
