This page really needs to be specialized because it is totally not useful as it is. Why is the edit version of the page in Russian? --SpectralDaisy (talk) 00:17, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
- Hi SpectralDaisy! I'm not sure why you say you see Russian when you edit the page, but I wonder if you're referring to the language links. There is a link to the Russian category for astrological signs, it looks like this: [[ru:Категория:Знаки зодиака]]. There are a lot of other language links there, too. The reason you see so little actual content is twofold:
- Much of the page's content is transcluded. That means other pages hold the information, and the category page is just "looking it up". The category page uses the template pages {{WesternZodiac}} and {{Zodiac}}; you can tell this because they are surrounded by curly brackets: e.g., {{Western Zodiac}}.
- Category pages don't actually hold the pages that belong to the category. Each individual article does that. For example, Leo (astrology) contains the category Astrological signs (you can see categories listed at the bottom of the page). They're added by placing [[Category:Astrological signs]] near the end of the article. Bestial sign also contains this category, and if you don't feel it's appropriate, you can visit the article and delete the category. But please be careful; if you remove a category that isn't appropriate, you should always ensure that it is in an appropriate category. Bestial sign would be left almost uncategorised if you removed it, so be sure to replace Astrological signs with another. Perhaps just Category:Astrology would do. Please be sure to visit the category for Astrology and get a feel for how the information is organised. It could probably be improved, :)
