Rename to "Georgian anarchists"

[edit]

I'm wondering if we should re-name this to "Georgian anarchists" as the name is currently very awkward.

@AnarchistHistory: This is a much larger issue than this single category, it applies across the entire parent category of people from Georgia (country). Over the past two decades, there has been a persistent lack of consensus over whether the country or the USian state are the primary topic, which means they are both disambiguated in their titles. (See Talk:Georgia (country), it's basically an annual tradition to rehash the same debate and ultimately get nowhere with it)
I'm personally of the opinion that the country should be the primary topic and I find it a little absurd that it is given the same weight as a USian state, but there are plenty of other editors that would disagree with me on that and say the exact opposite. By all means, if you want to open a move request at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion, then feel free to do so, but unfortunately I think there's a snowball's chance in hell that it'll make it through. --Grnrchst (talk) 08:08, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, today I learned something new! But that is a shame. AnarchistHistory (talk) 08:26, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Gren, for managing to say this more politely than I felt capable of when I saw this notification earlier. I'll add that the "People from place" format (as opposed to "Fooian people") was likewise decided in previous discussions. I've been watching with some dismay over the past many months as the categories get converted to this format. I think that one is more likely to change than the Georgia consensus - but in the long term. No one much appreciates someone reopening a time-consuming debate, so I don't expect anyone will try to do so for some time. -- asilvering (talk) 14:43, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
