"American people?"

Comment 1: It is an "Americanism" (domestic U.S. trait) to call U.S. citizens: "Americans". The correct appellation is U.S. citizen. Comment 2: American people? What? Do you mean "American persons" (this would be more accurate, though U.S. citizen is a better term).

The term "people" should be used to refer to a large body of persons. As in "an entire subculture of individuals".

But anyway, this shouldn't be defined as "Americans". The correct term is "U.S. citizens", or "U.S. persons", the latter of which refers to non-citizens, resident in the United States, i.e. green-card holders and such. 178.197.254.4 (talk) 20:31, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
