This article is too complex for beginners. I am a quasi beginner (I played guitar for about three years when I was around 30. Now I'm 73, and I've taken up bass guitar.) And this is too detailed for me - in the sense it requires too much prior knowledge. I just wanted to know what a fifth was. And I get all this stuff about different scales, etc. TMI. In trying to upgrade the quality of Music Theory Articles, I think you have forgotten that many of us are truly beginning students. Rustys1941 (talk) 22:50, 3 February 2014 (UTC)
