Category:Wikipedia important community decisions
This is a maintenance category, used for maintenance of the Wikipedia project. It is not part of the encyclopedia and contains non-article pages, or groups articles by status rather than subject. Do not include this category in content categories. |
This category is for already-closed requests for comment (RfCs) and proposals which have had a serious impact, which are often cited as precedents or rationales, and/or which enabled or disabled some process, procedure, or feature of Wikipedia. Some major RfCs and proposals are buried in talk page archives, and appear here via redirects.
Nothing specific to a particular topic, WikiProject, user, or other narrow concern should be categorized here unless it has had demonstrable and strong precedential value across similar cases. Otherwise this category will be overwhelmingly large, and useless. In such a case, it may make sense to instead categorize a more generically named redirect to it, so its rationale for inclusion is obvious. (Example: the RfC originally titled "Bird common name decapitalisation" appears here under the name "Capitalisation of vernacular names of organisms", the actual scope of its effect across 100,000+ articles.)
