This competency level is suitable for those who know the complete alphabet in their sign language, some numerical signs and possibly a few phrases.
The syntax for using the template is simple.
On your homepage, type {{User sgn-1|X}}, substituting X for the name of the language.
If you want to use the sgn template within the Babel template, one extra step is needed (because of the language parameter). First use the subst keyword to substitute the template code into your homepage. For example, type: {{Subst:Babel-3|hi|en-3|sgn-1}}. Then after saving the page, click "edit this page" again, and add the language parameter to the "User sgn" template. For example, change {{User sgn-1}} to {{User sgn-1|French Sign Language}}.
