Category:Unrecognized accreditation associations
This category contains articles about entities for higher education accreditation that are not recognized by a legitimate accreditation-oversight body of a sovereign state, a state entity which regulates government funded student loans, or a subnational entity with legitimate powers to accredit educational institutions. These are most commonly illegitimate operations set up by the diploma mill industry to assist in their marketing. However, some accreditors that are unrecognized for educational accreditation may serve some other legitimate function, such as certifying an institution's adherence to religious doctrine. Also, a newly established educational accreditation organization may not yet have achieved recognition.
