Category:Steamboats of the Willamette River
Appearance
This category is intended to cover vessels that ran upriver from Portland, Oregon, usually to Oregon City, and boats that ran above Willamette Falls, and on the various tributaries of the Willamette River, including the Tualatin, the Yamhill, and the Long Tom rivers. Generally these had to be smaller steamers, especially in the early days. Sometimes they were specially built to maneuver in very shallow water. It is not intended to include vessels which ran on the Willamette but only up to Portland, which were principally Columbia River steamers.
