Heads of regions of France, or the equivalent subdivision in overseas France: overseas region, overseas collectivity or, formerly, overseas territory.
The office is in principle called President of the Regional council (Président du conseil régional), other titles being:
- President of the Executive Council (Président du conseil exécutif): Corsica since 1992, Martinique since 2015
- President of the Assembly (Président de l'Assemblée): French Guiana since 2015. Note that while Corsica and Martinique have both an Assembly (legislative body) and an Executive Council with separate roles, in French Guiana the role of the Executive Council is vested in the President and Vice-Presidents of the Assembly.
- President of the Government (Président du gouvernement): New Caledonia since 1999
- President of the Territorial Council (Président du conseil territorial): Saint Pierre and Miquelon, Saint Barthélemy since 2007, Saint Martin since 2007
- President of the Collectivity (Président de la collectivité) is also used
- President of the Territorial Assembly (Président de l'assemblée territoriale): Wallis and Futuna
- President of the Departmental Council (Président du conseil départemental): Mayotte, since 2015, as the council performs the duties of both a department and a region since 2011
- The office was known as President of the General Council (Président du conseil général) until 2015
- President of French Polynesia (Président de la Polynésie française), since 1984
