Category:National second teams

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In some sports, a national governing body may select a second-string international team. Originally these were most often called the "B" team. They might play against the senior side of a weaker international team or against a fellow second-string team. Latterly the designation "A" team, or a formal nickname, is more common. The team is typically made up of promising players who might later be good enough for the senior team. However, unlike youth international teams, there are no age restrictions.
