Category:Former Big East Conference teams

This category includes athletic programs that were once members of the "Big East Conference". It is intended to include subcategories for the following

• Programs that left the original Big East before the 2013 conference split.
• Programs that remained in the American Athletic Conference, the football-sponsoring conference that inherited the original Big East's charter and structure, after the 2013 split.
• Any programs that have left the current Big East since the conference split, or will do so in the future. (No full members have yet departed, but some associate members have.)

UConn, which left the original Big East in 2013, was removed from this category upon joining the current Big East in July 2020.
