Category:Early Netherlandish sculptors
Appearance
- This category refers to artists who created Early Netherlandish sculptures — produced from the 14th century until the mid-16th century in the region of the Northern Netherlands (more or less present-day Netherlands) and the Southern Netherlands with the former Prince-Bishopric of Liège (present-day Belgium and parts of northern France).
- This time period is also known as the Late Medieval Period and Early Renaissance. Art from the Southern Netherlands in the same time frame is also known as Flemish, but as applied to a period of art, the term "Flemish" is now used by art historians for art produced after 1510 up to around 1800.
