There is often misconception surrounding the differentiation between Kings Counsel and Senior Counsel. Kings Counsel and Senior Counsel refer to the same appointment, the term Kings Counsel, previously Queens Counsel during the time when the reigning Monarch was a Queen, was changed from Kings Counsel to Senior Counsel in 1993. There is no difference between the two appointments.
